Here is a great  prototype Light-Seeking Robot submitted by Christopher Hazlett. He writes :

This autonomous robot uses the Arduino and the Adafruit motor shield to opearate the RP5 Tracked Chassis from Pololu.com to find a light-source. It’s the base for more advance sensor driven robots.

The Sketchduino

2009 by Patric

Nonikatz sent me “The Sketchduino” project using an Etch A Sketch screen , Arduino board and 2 R/C servos. The servo attached to each bottom corner of the Etch A Sketch screen. The photo below shows a small sketch made with the Arduino controller on the Etch A Sketch screen.

Dr. Bones

2009 by Patric

dr-bones

Many projects submitted to Arduinoshow came from Parsons the new school of design and here is one sent to me by Iskander Ahmed. Dr. Bone has LEDs on the middle of the skeleton body and light up when all skeleton body parts connected together.

The following prototype was made for my Making Wireless toys class at Parsons the new school of design. The toy is called Dr.Bones and is intended to teach kids, ill be it very simply, the basic layout of the human skeletal anatomy whilst simultaneously providing them with a toy than can be torn down and used in various other imaginary role playing scenarios. The pieces complete a circuit due to the conductive velcro present on either end of a limb.

Thanks Iskander Ahmed [link]

Snoozy the Sloth

2009 by Patric

Justin Blinder sent me this cool toy. It looks like a live robotic because it has the respiratory system. Justin writes:

Snoozy the Sloth is a plush toy with a respiratory system. He sleeps while clinging onto a user, allowing them to feel both the contraction and expansion of his chest, as well exhaling of air from his mouth. The main concept behind snoozy is to create an intimate, yet passive, toy interaction that relaxes and comforts a user, through the tactile experience of steady breathing patterns.

Morning Monster

2009 by Patric

morning-monster-digital-alarm-clock

This cool digital alarm clock submitted to me by Nick Hardeman. Nick writes:

The Morning Monster is a plush electronic alarm clock. He has all of the normal alarm functions, set time, set alarm, snooze, etc. However, what makes him a monster is his ability to shine the sun on your face when the alarm goes off by opening the blinds. The blinds are also manually controlled my moving his left arm up and down and he will never over-crank them!

There are other projects submitted by Nick Hardeman such Nove Bit and Theremin Style Instrument. Thanks Nick Hardeman. [link]
